Tianyi Jiang

Landscape Architect

Tianyi Jiang 'Tan' is originally from China. She has a solid background in ecology and biology. After a few years' search for her passion, she finally determined to devote her life to landscape architecture - a profession to explore the human-nature relationship, which she feels intriguing and meaningful. She earned a master’s degree in Landscape Architecture from the University of Georgia in 2017 and since then she has been working on a variety of landscape design and planning projects including residential, multi-family, commercial and green infrastructure. She is always interested in learning new knowledge and techniques within and out of the field and lives a life of curiosity. In her spare time, she likes reading books, riding bicycles with family and hiking with friends. Currently, she lives in the metro Atlanta area with her daughter and husband.

  1. What is something you love about Landscape Architecture?
    The blend of science and art in this profession is always attracting and inspiring me. I love to create a sustainable design responding to ever-changing eco-system. I also enjoy the process from a design concept on paper to a complete installation and watch people enjoy the aesthetics and functionality of the space.

  2. If you could be a mixed drink, what would it be?
    Any drink with Matcha in it.

  3. What is your favorite way to socially isolate?
    To set off on a spiritual journey by reading a book.
