The Brooklyn Riverside, is a 310 unit residence in seven interconnected complexes located east of 220 Riverside, between Magnolia Street and Park Street, in Jacksonville, FL. The $41 million project broke ground in January 2014, and opened in 2015. It features a two-story fitness center, individual garages, elevators, and property management and maintenance, in addition to a two-story pool deck, a pool side bar and four-story clubroom and a bocce court.
Redeveloping four old city blocks, the developers were faced with an existing utility easement needing to remain on the long axis of the site, effectively bisecting the site and separating the pool and amenity area from the leasing office and front entry. Site solutions worked with Dwell Architects and the project team to develop series of colorful monoliths that traverse the site and link the strong forms and the color palette of the leasing building with the strong cantilevers and colors of the pool and amenity area. Metal pergolas, site feature walls, a modern pool with dual aqua decks, fire pit, gas grilling stations, and a regulation-size bocce court round out the amenities.
Site Solutions designed and detailed all the exterior landscape, hardscape, and exterior amenities, and worked with the City of Jacksonville on securing all the necessary sitework entitlements and permits.
